West Side Story
Casting soon, for Steven Spielberg’s feature film adaptation of WEST SIDE STORY. Cindy Tolan’s casting office in New York have begun the search for the roles of the SHARKS, JETS, SHARK GIRLS, and JET GIRLS.
They have organized an open dance call in Miami on October 29th. Anyone interested in attending the dance call on October 29th should follow the instructions listed here.
West Side Story is directed by Stephen Spielberg and adapted by Tony Kushner. The open dance call will be held in Miami, Florida, Monday, October 29. It will be a 9 AM to 10:30 AM sign in for men and 1 PM to to 2:30 PM sign in for women.
Location
The location for the open dance call will be the Miami City Ballet at 2200 Liberty Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, 33139.
As noted, they are searching for the sharks and the jets, both male and female. The sharks are LatinX and The Jets are Caucasian.
Looking for performers between 15 to 25 years old. A strong dance background is required, and must also be able to sing.
Please Prepare
Please come warmed up and ready to dance in the proper attire and shoes. Men should wear comfortable movement clothes and bring jazz shoes or sneakers. Women should wear comfortable movement clothes and bring character heels ballet or jazz flats and a rehearsal skirt
Talent will be seen on a first first come, first served basis to learn the dance combination.
In addition please prepare a short cut (16 bars) of a classical musical theatre song. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.
