The feature film “Snow and The Seven” is now in pre-production and casting will begin soon. The film is a retelling of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” set in British colonial China, where Shaolin monks take in a refuge girl. The title is a working title and will change. This film is not going to be a Walt Disney Pictures film. Instead it is going to be done by Reality Media and will be produced by Brett Ratner. Reality Media has apparently acquired the rights to Snow White from Disney for an undisclosed seven-figure payment. Ratner has stated that this version is sticking closer to the original Grimm’s Fairy tale version rather than the classic Disney animated version.
