Casting calls and auditions for Thor: Ragnarok are now officially underway. Marvel Studios and Buena Vista Motion Picture Group will begin filming the action adventure fantasy film “Thor: Ragnarok” in late-July, 2016 and the casting team is now auditioning actors for new supporting roles. Shooting will take place at the Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford, Australia and other locations around Queensland. Shooting will continue through October, 2016. To be considered, all talent must have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in Australia. Details below.

“Thor: Ragnarok” will center on Ragnarok, a cyborg clone of Thor who has all the powers of the Asgardian god and none of the humanity. Along the way Thor and Hulk cross paths with Valkyrie, aka Brunnhilde, a longtime member of The Defenders, who has the Norse goddess The Enchantress as her enemy. Also involved in the story will be Grandmaster, a cosmic being who plays chess with lesser lifeforms such as humans.

Starring in “Thor: Ragnarok” is two-time People’s Choice Awards winner Chris Hemsworth as Thor, BAFTA Awards nominee Tom Hiddleston as Loki, three-time Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins as Odin. Additional cast members are two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett as Hela, Black Reel Awards winner Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Academy Award nominee Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Karl Urban as Skurge, and Golden Globe Award winner Idris Elba as Heimdall.

Academy Award nominee Taika Waititi is directing “Thor: Ragnarok” from an adapted screenplay written by Stephany Folsom with earlier drafts written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost, based on characters by Hugo Awards nominees Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and Larry Lieber. Publicists Guild of America Showmanship Award winner Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito will oversee production for Marvel Studios. “Thor: Ragnarok” is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
