NOTE: The open casting calls information for Friday May 10th is listed below.

Marvel Studios and Arad Productions in association with Columbia Pictures are shooting the sequel to “The Amazing Spider Man” in upstate New York from April 30, 2013 through May 9, 2013. The extras casting director is seeking adult extras 18-80 years of age, for fully paid positions to work in New York. This is said to be the largest movie ever filmed in New York and will result in 3,500 jobs and the casting of over 11,000 extras total. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014.

Golden Globe Award nominee Andrew Garfield returns as the orphan teen Peter Parker and his alter-ego superhero Spider-Man. Also returning for the sequel is the stunning Golden Globe Award nominee Emma Stone in the role of Parker’s high school classmate and love interest Gwen Stacy. Golden Globe Award nominee Shailene Woodley has been cast as Mary Jane Watson, the same role that Kirsten Dunst had in the Sam Raimi directed previous Spider-Man trilogy. People named Woodley one of 2012 Most Beautiful at Every Age, and she has been nominated for six Teen Choice Awards. Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx has joined the cast playing the villain Electro. Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti is playing the role of The Rhino. And Golden Globe Award winner Martin Sheen takes on the role of Uncle Ben, while Two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field is playing Aunt May.

Marc Webb will once again direct this second film in the “The Amazing Spider Man” series from a screenplay originally drafted by James Vanderbilt, with rewrites by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner. The first film in the series was a box office mega hit making over $752 million. Webb made his feature film directorial debut with the 2009 romantic comedy-drama (500) Days of Summer. Next up for Webb is the indie film “”The Only Living Boy in New York” starring Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Logan Lerman.

Avi Arad is producing under the banner of his company, Avi Arad Productions. Arad was CEO and founder of Marvel Studios, but left to open his own company in May, 2006. Although he continues to produce films for Marvel, he will be producing such upcoming films as “Maximum Ride,” “Mass Effect,” and “Metal Gear Solid”. Former co-President of Production at Sony Pictures, Matt Tolmach, will also produce. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are executive producing. Their credits include “Star Trek,” “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Proposal,” and “People Like Us”. The two have written the screenplay for such films as “Mission: Impossible III,” “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” and the upcoming “All You Need Is Kill” starring Tom cruise and Emily Blunt.

He gained the ability to control electricity after the accident. Electro tries to take over New York City’s power supply in an attempt at glory and respect.
