Walt Disney Pictures feature film ‘War Horse’ casting background in United Kingdom

Walt Disney Pictures and Dreamworks Studios are now in production on the feature film ‘War Horse‘, and casting for the films extras is ongoing in England, UK. The film is part of a 30-picture deal between DreamWorks and Disney. Shooting is taking place at Longcross Studios in Surrey, as well as on-location in Meavy and Dartmoor, Devon. There will also be filming in Caerwent, a village and community in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is probable that the World War I scenes will be shooting in Caerwent.

Here is what the casting directors are seeking for October:

● Men who live in Caerwent or near by in South Wales.
● Must be physically fit.
● Must be prepared to have a 1940’s style short back and sides haircut and clean shaven.
● Must not have any obvious tattoos or piercings.
● Must be legally allowed to work in the United Kingdom.

They are looking for MEN ONLY for filming in October, 2010. Good rates of pay.

For filming in August and September, here is what they are seeking:

● Men and Women who live in or near Dartmoor to portray townspeople in 1914.
● Women must have natural long hair with no highlights or obvious dye.
● Men can’t have obvious tattoos or piercings.
● Because no-one used to lay out in the sun or get out much in the olden days, no deep tans.
● Due to the early call times, anyone wanting to be considered must live within a one hour drive of the location.

But even in the desolation of the trenches, Joey’s courage touches the soldiers around him and he is able to find warmth and hope. But his heart aches for Albert, the farmer’s son he left behind.
